Let's Just Talk with Hammi is a talk show designed to bring nuance and complexity to public discourse. We do this by engaging scholars, and experts from across disciplines and institutions in conversation with one another to offer their perspectives on the issues that truly matter.
The show has various segments and editions that caters to different audiences. The regular programming hosted by Hammi, engages faculty and experts in conversation with one another to address difficult and complex topics.
We have our Art and Soul Edition co-hosted by our correspondents, guest-stars, and Hammi. This edition showcases upcoming artist (Musicians, Poets, Rappers, Visual Artist, etc…). On this segment you can expect fun and dynamic late night talk show style performances and conversations.
Lastly, our student segment engages students with different point of views in conversation with one another in the spirit of dialogue and learning.
Hamidou Sylla (Hammi) is the founder, producer, and host of Let's Just Talk with Hammi. A first-generation college student, Hammi was born in the Republic of Guinea in West Africa and grew up in the Bronx, NY. He studied Political Science and Francophone Studies at St. Lawrence University (SLU '21) and holds a Master of Public Affairs from Brown University's Watson Institute for International and Public Affairs (Brown '23), where he was selected as a Commencement speaker. Hammi is also a Slam Poet, Actor, and an ardent advocate on issues of equity and justice.
From creative and theoretical conception to practical and physical completion, Alex Laferriere has written and directed feature films, produced a plethora of New Media shows such as podcasts and YouTube channels, as well as participating in projects ranging from 24 hour film festivals to music videos to client projects.
Lynne Khouri is the production designer and art director of Let's Just Talk with Hammi. Lynne grew up in Amman, Jordan and studied Graphic Design and Marketing at Northeastern University (NU '23). Lynne is also a Photographer, Screenwriter, and Freelance Graphic Designer.
Fares Bourote is the technical director and editor of Let's Just Talk with Hammi. Fares grew up in Danvers, MA but is originally from Rabat, Morocco. He studied Political Science and Media & Screen Studies at Northeastern University (NU '25). Fares is also a Director, Screenwriter, and freelance Videographer.
